The Brennan Scam Score

Lower score = scammier vibes. I'm not a regulator. This is what a paranoid-but-amateur investigator would weigh if they had a spreadsheet and a grudge.

Every investigation gets scored across seven categories. I add them up. You get a number and a tier. You still decide — I'm just organizing the red flags.

0 30 50 70 100 — lower is riskier (red → yellow → green).

Categories & Weights

Category Weight What It Measures
Founder transparency 20 pts Real name? LinkedIn public? Prior ventures traceable? Or scrubbed?
Marketing claims vs reality 20 pts Earnings claims, testimonial authenticity, before/after proof
Refund & guarantee honesty 15 pts Do terms match the VSL? Hidden clauses?
Customer complaint pattern 15 pts Trustpilot, Reddit, BBB — volume + theme
Sales pressure tactics 10 pts Countdown timers, "last spot" lies, high-pressure close calls
Operational substance 10 pts Real team? Real office? Real product? Or just a funnel?
Online footprint age 10 pts Domain age, founder history, social account ages

Tiers

Score Tier My Take
80–100 Probably Legit Boring is good. Few smoke, some fire possible — do normal due diligence.
60–79 Proceed with Caution Mixed signals. Read the contract. Maybe wait for more reviews.
40–59 Major Red Flags Several concerning patterns. I'd need a VERY good reason to pay.
20–39 Likely Scam Pattern doesn't add up. Proceed only if you enjoy stress.
0–19 Run Yeah, no. Close the tab.

What This Isn't

Not legal advice. Not financial advice. Not a court ruling. Companies can improve (rare) or get worse (common). I update scores when I find new receipts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Brennan Scam Score?
A 0–100 rating where lower scores mean more red flags. It weighs founder transparency, marketing honesty, refunds, complaints, sales pressure, operational substance, and online footprint.
What does a score of 40–59 mean?
Major Red Flags: several concerning patterns documented. Proceed only with heavy due diligence — read the contract, search BBB/Reddit, and verify income claims.
Does a low score mean something is illegal?
No. The score reflects documented risk signals, not a legal verdict. Some low-scoring offers may still be legal; some higher-scoring ones can still disappoint buyers.
Who runs legitorscam2026.com?
Tyler Brennan, an independent consumer watchdog based in Denver. Not a lawyer or journalist — investigations use public records, FTC filings, and consumer complaints.
